Stellato Wine Company, Vista Stellata
Founded by Lakeisha Mays · Washington, DC
The Story
Vista Stellata means “starry view” in Italian, a name inspired by the peace of the night sky. Founded in 2024, the brand was created to bring well-made Italian wines to American tables with elegance and without pretense. Every bottle starts with a direct relationship. Rather than buying through layers of intermediaries, we work with growers and producers in Italy, selecting wines that honor their region and the traditions behind them. Our founder’s WSET training and knowledge of Italy’s DOC and DOCG appellation system guide each selection. Our portfolio includes a Barbera and a Pinot Grigio, both recognized by industry judges. The Barbera earned a gold medal at the national San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, and the Pinot Grigio took bronze at the international Sommelier’s Choice Awards.

Founder
Lakeisha Mays is the founder of Vista Stellata, an Italian wine brand she launched in 2024. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, she found her way to wine through early visits to Napa Valley, then deepened that interest through study across Europe and WSET certification. A practicing attorney with a background in regulatory compliance, Lakeisha brings the same rigor to her wine as she does to the law. She works directly with growers and producers in Italy, making regular sourcing trips and drawing on a working knowledge of the country’s DOC and DOCG appellation system to select wines that reflect their place of origin.
