From significant business expansions to celebrated industry accolades and clever new offerings, the past week has been a testament to their unwavering dedication to crafting exceptional spirits and building enduring legacies.

Mishka Premium Vodka Secures National Airline Partnership and Expands Production

Mishka Premium Vodka, produced by This Life Forever, Inc., Pennsylvania's first Black-owned distillery, is making impressive strides in business expansion and national reach. The brand is currently undergoing a significant expansion with a new manufacturing and production facility set to open in Allentown in early 2026. This move will substantially increase their capacity to meet growing demand. Furthermore, Mishka Premium Vodka has secured a remarkable partnership with a national airline, which will begin carrying its vodka line on select flights and stocking them in all airline club lounges across the country. This strategic alliance not only elevates Mishka's visibility but also brings a premium Black-owned spirit to a broader audience nationwide.

Arthur Wheeler Spirits Company Dominates Awards Season

The Arthur Wheeler Spirits Company is garnering widespread acclaim, solidifying its position as a leading force in the whiskey category. This Maryland-based brand has been recognized as “America's most awarded Black-owned whiskey brand of 2025” (excluding industry titan Uncle Nearest). Their impressive collection of accolades includes multiple gold and silver medals from the London International Spirits Competition and three prestigious Gold Medals at the International Bartender Spirits Awards. Notably, their Cask Strength Bourbon, 1932 Bourbon Whiskey, and Toasted Stave each clinched the coveted honor of “Best Overall Craft Whiskey” at the latter competition.

New Dawn Distilling Celebrates Bourbon Excellence and Innovation

New Dawn Distilling, a pioneering Black-woman-owned distillery, continues to impress with its distinctive approach to craft spirits. Their signature New Dawn Bourbon has been lauded as a Top Pick for 2025 by R&B Magazine, celebrated for its complex notes of caramel and spice, elegant design, and inspiring narrative. In addition to this recognition, New Dawn Distilling earned a Silver medal at the 2024 USA Spirits Ratings and a Platinum award at the 2025 L.A. Spirits Awards. Further highlighting their commitment to pushing creative boundaries, the distillery also received a SIP Awards Innovation Award in 2025, acknowledging their inventive methods in grain sourcing and flavor expression.

The Old G Introduces Innovative 'Pocket Old G' After Major Award Win

In the vibrant gin category, The Old G, founded by Peter Ibrahim and Hebru Brantley, is making significant waves. The premium London Dry gin recently made headlines by winning “Best Gin in Show” at the 2025 Global Spirit Awards with an impressive score of 98 points. Building on its successful debut in 2024, which saw over 2,000 cases sold, The Old G has now launched an innovative portable 200ml “Pocket Old G.” This new product demonstrates the brand’s commitment to quality and creative marketing, making their award-winning gin accessible in a convenient format.

These recent developments are not just individual triumphs; they represent a collective surge in the Black-owned spirits industry. At DISTRYB, we are proud to document and celebrate the brands that are not only producing exceptional beverages but also forging new paths, setting high standards, and contributing significantly to the rich tapestry of American craft spirits. We encourage our community to explore and support these visionary brands as they continue to innovate and inspire.
