AfroPop Soda Secures Major Distribution Deal, Charting Course for National Growth

DISTRYB|Indulge Black History|June 26, 2026

In a powerful stride towards wider market reach, AfroPop Soda, the Black-owned beverage company celebrated for its bold flavors and commitment to Black creativity and community, announced a new distribution partnership with Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) on March 25, 2026. This strategic alliance marks a pivotal moment for the Oklahoma-based brand, setting the stage for substantial national growth and increased accessibility across the United States.

Founded in December 2023 by Jamel Stephens, AfroPop Soda has quickly gained traction by blending unique taste profiles with a culturally forward mission. Stephens emphasizes the brand’s dedication to celebrating Black joy, art, and community, collaborating with emerging Black artists to design its distinctive packaging.

The partnership with RNDC, a distributor operating in 42 states, is expected to dramatically scale AfroPop Soda's distribution capabilities. Jamel Stephens expressed that this collaboration “puts AfroPop in the big leagues” and provides a crucial opportunity to become more competitive and expand volume. While initial distribution efforts under this partnership will focus on Oklahoma, the established infrastructure offers a clear pathway for AfroPop's products to reach a much broader national consumer base.

This move builds on AfroPop's earlier success in expanding its presence. In March 2025, the brand launched pre-orders for its online store, beginning its journey towards national availability through direct-to-consumer channels. Now, with RNDC's extensive network, the brand is poised to solidify its footprint in retail spaces across multiple states.

AfroPop Soda offers a range of all-natural, craft sodas, including popular flavors like "Blvcker The Berry" (blackberry cream soda), "Grandma's House" (butterscotch cream soda), and "Summer Nights" (blueberry lemonade soda). These flavors are not just about taste; they are designed to reflect and celebrate Black culture and heritage.

The brand's success is a testament to the growing demand for authentic, culturally relevant, and high-quality non-alcoholic beverage options. By focusing on natural ingredients and fostering creativity within the Black community, AfroPop Soda is making a significant impact in the functional and craft soft drink market.

This partnership with RNDC underscores a broader trend of Black-owned beverage brands achieving significant milestones in distribution and market penetration. It highlights the increasing recognition and investment in brands that offer unique products while also championing diversity and cultural representation in the beverage industry. AfroPop Soda's journey from a local Oklahoma brand to a potential national presence through this key distribution agreement exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit and cultural impact of Black-owned businesses in America.
